This weeks prompt: Jump*
GO:
Remember skipping rope? Doing hurdles in gym class? Jumping up and down for sheer joy at a birthday party? All jumping, all joyful, all easy… at the time. Now, tinged with age and hardened a bit with experience, I feel sometimes that I’ve forgotten how to jump.
How to take chances and risks. How to dive headfirst into a project, and emerge proud of what I created. How to allow my heart to leap at the touch of my husband. How to let go of what if’s and embrace how about’s. When I consider Who is holding me, what about jumping is scary? Will He truly let me fall? No, I know He is the one drawing me towards the leap.
Maybe it’s time I remember.

“..what about jumping is scary?” Amen. Why can’t we remember that all the time???
Thank you for the reminder to just let go and jump, trusting the one who holds us.
Oh Anna, this is beautiful! Glad we are FMF neighbors. 🙂 I loved this: How to let go of what if’s and embrace how about’s. My mentor always says “How ’bout?” and it’s one of those quirky traits I just love. But this was a beautiful way to think of it…I can jump safely, even into what seems unsafe, because He’s there in it, asking me to leap.
Beautifully written. Why is it we let everything get so caught up that we forget to jump? Nice job girlie!
Love this…it’s so true that jumping can sometimes seem scary now that we’re “all grown up.” 😉 Beautiful reminder that we can take that leap, trusting that He’s got us! Blessings to you! 🙂
Well how about that? I like. Thanks for sharing. Happy Weekend.
LOVE this!!! So glad you Jumped in!
Oh yes, go for it! Jump girlfriend. You will be so happy that you did.
This is beautiful Anna! You’re a blessing and i’m right there with you…Taking risks is scary but not when you can rest in His arms to catch you!
Oh I like you & your writing, just subscribed. Time for all to let go & be like the kiddos we once were:) -Rachel from Redeeming Her
You’re right. Considering who is holding us, there’s no need to worry, there’s no need to be afraid. Amen sister.
You awakened a beautiful image! Thanks, and happy jumping!
I am soo glad I started with your #FMF from twitter this morning!! Just the reminder I need when I “jump” into writing my own 5 minutes!! Sometimes I desperately want to be a kid again… why do they have all the fun??! 🙂
Yes! Now, I just have to keep telling myself this. Glad to be jumping with you!
So glad you took a chance & jumped in 🙂 So very glad.
Why do we let fear slip in as we age ? I want to once again jump like I did as a kids. Thanks for reminding that I can still jump.
So true! I watch my two year old son “jump” fearlessly all day long. Desiring to jump more myself.
Yes, jumping for joy along with because it really isn’t as hard as we make it out to be. I love these words sister. Keep em’ coming.
I love this: “How to let go of what if’s and embrace how about’s”.
I’ll embrace the how about’s with you. For now, I’m just thrilled that I jumped and joined in this week…though, still shaking a bit. 🙂
‘Remembering’ with you!
Amen, right there with you. I love watching my kids jump to my husband from the stairs, remembering that trust and confidence. Yes, let’s trust like that in our strong Father!
I agree. Jumping is scary and exhilarating.
