We did it. We’re ready for November, for December. We’re ready to give deep thanks, to prepare for the coming Christ child, to celebrate His birth, to ring in the New Year with joy. Armed with tools like:

you’re ready.

But this… this sound wasn’t sad. Why… this sound sounded glad. Every Who down in Whoville, the tall and the small, was singing, without *any* presents at all! He hadn’t stopped Christmas from coming, it *came*! Somehow or other… it came just the same. How could it be so? It came without ribbons!… it came without tags!… it came without packages, boxes, or bags! He puzzled and puzzed till his puzzler was sore. Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before. Maybe Christmas, he thought… doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas, perhaps… means a little bit more!

The Grinch Who Stole Christmas

No one can steal the joy of the holidays from you except yourself. This year, instead of running ragged, slow your pace. Find time for only the ‘yeses’ that bring joy to you + yours. Don’t reserve your ‘no’s’ but hand them out lavishly – it’s really ok. Have a fire, light a candle, and remember the beautiful reasons this time of year has always been so special: grace, peace, gratefulness, and a tiny baby born for us all.

Happy Holidays. Happy Thanksgiving. Merry Christmas. May moments of Christmas find your heart, and may they find your heart light.
