Unreal! We are halfway to snuggling up baby! We had a doctors appointment and ultrasound yesterday, which was just amazing. This whole process of growing a person has made me think daily about Psalm 139, which is my very favorite chunk of Scripture:
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together…
-psalm 139:13-15

And to see what He is knitting… yesterday baby was all about kicking and waving and dancing around. LOVED it! We saw all the parts of babes heart and brain, two arms and two legs and two hands and two feet, a nose and a tiny tummy… incredible. We decided to keep the gender a delivery room surprise =) The ultrasound tech wrote it on a card in an envelope, so we do have that, but aren’t planning on opening it. She didn’t put it in my chart, so my doctor doesn’t even know! ISn’t that fun?!

So the 20 week update…
Cravings:
– tonight I grabbed a bag of caramel puffcorn off the shelf at Target and ate half of it before leaving the store. I guess that was a craving =)
– cereal

Sleep:
Pretty good! We were on vacay this past weekend, and I didn’t sleep as well there. But home in my own bed – like a charm. No strange dreams lately. Sometimes my tummy gets rock hard and bloated, and that makes sleeping uncomfortable. But for the most part, doing good.

How I’m feeling:
Great!! Still lots of energy and no queasiness {yay!} And best of all, my heart is catching up to the joy in my womb. I’m truly getting excited, and that’s a big deal =) Sometimes I’ll just smile at my belly, and have found myself absentmindedly rubbing it, and I’m just so happy to finally start feeling more plain happy and less ‘banking on hope’!

Maternity clothes:
Yeah, I live in them. I can still wear my normal shirts, but love the length of maternity shirts. So I mostly wear Husby’s t-shirts and my maternity wear.

Weight gained:
So far, a total of 10 pounds. Which is right on track! I’m shooting for no more than 20 (25 at the most), so to have half that at half way through – I think that’s pretty great. AND it’s alllll belly =)

Belly pics!

on our north shore vacay last wknd – taken at Gooseberry Falls

See?! Alllll belly! =) I love that belly.
